Special Events

Be A LifeSaver ~ Be A Foster

On Saturday, June 30 from 1:30-3:30pm, join animal welfare organizations and the Petco Foundation at Petco stores across the country to learn about how you can Be a Lifesaver and become a foster! Organizations will be in participating Petco stores to talk with guests about their foster programs, what to expect when you become a foster, and how fostering saves lives.

Have you ever considered fostering a cat or kittens for FAF?

Stop by the West Seattle Petco and find out more. We may even have some bottle babies if there are any in our care at that time.

Who We Are

FAF is an all-volunteer organization. Our mission is to foster greater compassion for animals by example and through education.
Our primary goals are:
1) To reduce the number of animals abandoned, homeless, or killed until they all have a loving forever home.
2) To educate the community by providing information concerning

  • The right of animals to a life free of abuse or neglect
  • The resources that are available to those with a limited income
  • Volunteer opportunities to rescue, care for, and foster pets
  • The sad realities of failing to spay/neuter pets, and the plight of shelters
  • The steps to take BEFORE bringing a pet into your life

What We Do

The cats we rescue come from all kinds of situations: hoarding, abandoned, abused, unloved, and unwanted. FAF gets them the vet care they need and fosters them for as long as necessary until they can find loving permanent homes.

We work with caretakers to TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) cats and place the  kittens into foster care for socialization and adoption. We are continually in need of volunteers and foster homes to help.

How You Can Help

Foster ~ Volunteer ~ Donate

Your support is critical to our continued success. Donations of time, money, and other resources are always needed and greatly appreciated.

2017: A Year in Adoptions

2017: A Year in Adoptions includes 79 of the 108 adoptions this year.

With your help, in 2017 we were able to find homes for 108 cats and kittens! 16% of the adoptions were adult cats, some were  older or with medical issues.
