The mission of The Feral Cat Spay/Neuter Project is to save the lives of homeless cats by providing access to high volume spay/neuter surgery in a safe and humane environment, collaborating with others and mentoring like-minded organizations to increase spay/neuter in their regions.

Since their inception in 1997, cats from over 14 counties throughout Washington State have been brought to their clinic to be altered. All free-roaming cats arriving for surgery receive a basic health exam, rabies vaccination and an ear tip to clearly identify the cat as altered to avoid future trapping/transport for surgery that is not needed.

In addition to free spay/neuter surgery for free-roaming cats, they also offer spay/neuter services for tame cats. A small donation is requested for these surgeries to help subsidize the surgical costs.

FCAT is a group of dedicated volunteers who trap feral cats, S/N them, and return them to where they were trapped. Their specific mission: control the population of feral cats through the use of TNR.

FCAT helps trap cats and kittens in King and Pierce County. If you are looking for help outside these areas, they help with S/N resources, traps and education.

FCAT can also help people with low-cost S/N and treat common ailments, such as deworming, caring for upper respiratory infections (URIs), ear mites, and flea control. South Seattle Veterinary Hospital (206-242-8338) treats the cats that arrive at the holding area with abscesses, broken limbs, and other medical issues.

Next To Nature was started in West Seattle in 1995. Bea and Cliff took over Next to Nature from its second owner in June of 2001 and have made it into one of the premier pet (dog and cat) supply stores in the Northwest. They have a large selection of (almost) everything a pet or pet lover could desire.
